Multi domain certificate order, validation and issue process
Pricing scheme
GeoTrust and thawte
The price of a multi domain certificate from GeoTrust or thawte is calculated in the following way:
- The price of the 'normal' (non-multi-domain) certificate
- + the price of the SAN package (this will allow up to 5 domains in the certificate)
- + the price for each additional domain (if more than 5 domains are in the certificate)
Comodo
- The price of the multi domain certificate (this will allow up to 3 domains in the certificate)
- + the price for each additional domain (if more than 3 domains are in the certificate)
Order process
Requirements
- It is not required to have a unique IP address per domain
- The domain owner of each domain should be similar
CSR creation
In the CSR, it is important that the Common Name (CN) contains the primary hostname. The dnsFields should contain all hostnames, including this primary hostname.
Re-issues
If the replacement CSR contains more domains than the previous CSR, additional fees might apply. For Comodo, re-issue can be done ourselves from 'run report', select order, and click 'replace' button.
